Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
Flood Control District, Harris County. Community Clean-Up, Nearly 40 members of the Nob Hill Civic Assn. and the Nob Hill Garden Club in the far western Spring Branch area pitched in Saturday to clean the drainage ditch along Shadowdale from Raritan to Barwood. Some are shown at work at the top. In the bottom photo are Mrs. Gerald L. Andrews, 10307 Shadow Wood, garden club president, and Bob Farrington, 10314 Shadow Wood, civic club president. They planned the clean-up because the Harris County Food Control District doesn't have the funds to keep ditches adequately cleaned. Everything from Christmas trees to beer cans were hauled off. Now they hope everyone will co-operate in keeping it clean.

Photo is dated 1970.

Photo measures 8 x 10.25 inches.
