Description
Christmas, Houston. Left to right: Whittaker, Hayes & Ferguson. So None Go Hungry, The Student Council at Sterling High School 11625 Martindale Rd. was determined that no family in the area should go hungry during the Christmas holiday and so a food collection project was initiated. Each classroom provided stacks of canned goods and staples which the council members delivered to 16 families. The 1600 students of Sterling went "all out" for the families, who were selected by the school nurse. Pictured sorting and packing the supplies are, from left, Foster Whittaker, council member, Matthew Hayes, vice-president, and Kathy McLeland is president and John Jordan, physics teacher, is sponsor. The council sponsors other benefit projects.
