New Offshore Vessel, Dresser Offshore Services, Inc., a recently formed subsidiary of Dresser Industries, Inc., has introduced two self-propelled offshore production and completion vessels which can operate in up to 60 feet of water. The Dresser 1, above, contains a conventional workover rig fully equipped, and the Dresser II is equipped for thru-tubing operations and other offshore production services. Each vessel, designed to reduce offshore costs, was built at McDermott Shipyard in Morgan City, Louisiana and each cost about $1 1/2 million. J,C. Harper is general manager of the new division, which headquarters in Houston.
