Convent Of The Good Shepard Accredited Jr & Senior High School girls & Teacher, Special Education. Where does the money come from to run the convent? The Harris Country Probation Department furnishes $60 a month for room and board for each girl it places there. In private placements, families pay up to $125 a month. The convent itself furnishes teachers, academic program, textbooks, clothing, medical care, etc., out of its own treasury and money from the United Fund. Resident staff includes five nuns, five lay teachers, a social worker, three lay house mothers, and a might supervisor. A staff medical doctor, dentist, psychological consultant and psychiatrist, a Catholic priest and Protestant and Baptist ministers make regular visits.
