Births. Houston's First of the Year-One day old Kerry Bernard Ford doesn't seem to care, but he is the first baby born in Houston in 1961. Here he is with his mother, Mrs. General H. Ford, 17-D Susan Ann Ct. Kerry weighed in at 6 pounds 8 1/2 ounces at 12:35 a.m. Sunday in Houston Negro Hospital. Baby and mother, as shown, are doing fine. The father is a salesman for Fuller Products Co., 2019 Blodgett. When informed he was the first father of the year, he cheered: "Oh, man." But he was proud, too, of being a father for the first time. The last baby of 1960-and the last income tax exemption-also a boy, was born at 11:59 p.m. Satuday at the Southmore Hospital and Clinic in Pasadena. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Melvin R. Young, 2738 Oleander, Pasadena.
