The Baby Oilers begin their eighth season of football, sponsored by the Houston Police Association this year. In the foreground, David Reves and Larry Mucynski of the 1966 team, meet with new head coach Dalton Hoffman a former football star at Baylor and later a member of the AFL Oilers. In the background, representing the Houston Police Association are, left to right, E. R. Dennis, Sgt. H. L. Goodwin, and B. J. Rogers. Any boy who is no more than 14-years of age and who weighs no more than 135-pounds is invited to try out for the team. Tryouts are scheduled for Wednesday, August 16, Sharpstown Park net to Bonham School, 1pm.: Thursday, August 17, Field Park, Bissonnet & Ave. B., Bellaire, 1pm.: Friday , August 18, Mcgregor Park Softball Field, 1pm., and Saturday, August 19, Houston Oiler Practice Field, 1pm. All boys are asked to wear gym shorts and tennis shoes.
