1968 Press Photo Addicks Dam Reservoir holding water from torrential rains.

Description
Addicks Dam Reservoir did the job it was designed for - but has rarely been called upon to do - when it caught and held the runoff of torrential rains that hit the western part of Harris County last night Friday and Saturday. The water elevation level at the gate at the high point was 99.87 feet above sea level, the highest anyone recalls. Some livestock was caught out on the flooded prairies, but no loss of cattle was reported.

Photo is dated 1968.

Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches.
