1978 Press Photo Black and White photo of a heron, near San Jacinto Monument

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
Hey, who turned out the lights? Nobody. The Chronicle's Curtis McGee used some sort of photographic slight of hand to achieve this stark study in black and white. He and the heron were wandering around the San Jacinto Monument at the same time when their paths crossed.

Photo is dated 1978.

Photo measures 10 x 8 inches.
