Caption: Tapping a rubber tree consists of cutting away a thin shaving of bark about one twenty-fifth of an inch thick.This cut permits the latex to flow slowly out at the rate of from one to two drops a second.On United States Rubber Company plantations its ten million trees are all tapped on an avarage of eb=very other day.
