Caption: The family tree of Traffic Judge Richard M. Maher (left) tangled its branches Monday when he assumed his new duties as a Recorder's Court judge. More than 10 years ago, Maher's father, Henry, was a clerk in the same court. The judge he served was the late John J. Maher. The roles did a flip-flop when the court assigned Judge Richard Maher his own clerk; James M. Maher (right), the son of John J. Maher.
