Caption: In There Pitching--The horseshoes are only a blur as they fly from the hands of Charles Frazier of Detroit, top left, and Gerald (Doc) Maison of Warren toward the target stake 40 feet away. The two men were among competitors in a tournament held Sunday in Chandler Park by the Metro Horseshoe Pitching Club of Detroit. Future tournaments are scheduled for Sept 14 and 21. Prospective pitchers must throw 50 shoes for class qualification--so some sore arms are expected.
