CAPTION: MERCURY FOR 1964--Eighteen models include two new series, to-of-line Park Lane and Montrian, along with lowest-priced Monterey; new four-door fastback hardtop Marauder model (shown) in all there series; Commuter four-door station wagon added; "breezeway" roof, for better ventilation and fog and ice-free rear window, continued in all series; restyling of grille, front fenders, bumpers, side trim and rear accepts size; car is 1.3 inches higher; other dimensions unchanged; tire size increased from 7.50 to 8.00 by 14; interiors roomier with deeper body, more usable luggage space, easier entrance and exit; transmission tunnel reduced; new instrument panel ornamentation; new "shell" type bucket seats with console optional in Park Lane; six V-8 engines (two added) from 250 to 425 HP; 250 and 266-HP units use regular grade fuel; three-speed manual, three-speed dual range automatic and four-speed manual transmissions; softer rubber mounts for improved ride; new directional signals atop front fenders, standard in Montclair and Park Lane, in addition to instrument panel indicators in all Mercurys. Showroom date: Oct. 4..
