Edward J (Mike) Moran, who brought his battered cruiser to a home port following action in the Solomons is shown with his two children, Moore, 11 (left, and Michaela, 13. Mrs. Dean Dillman, sister-in-law of the captain said "Everybody calls him Mike, his real name is Edward J, but he keeps the 'J' a secret." Capt. Moran's wife died two years ago.
