A new 3.8-liter V-6 engine is standard in the F-100, while a new Select-Shift transmission with locking torque converter is available with both the V-6 and the 4.2-liter V-8. Styleside pickups (shown above) are available in the F-100, F-150, F-250 and F-350 model ranges, with 4x4 units available in all but the F-100 series. A specially equipped short-wheelbase Styleside F-100FS (Fuel Saver) will offer an EPA-estimated city mileage rating of 22 miles per gallon. It will feature a 4.9-liter six-cylinder engine, a three- or four-speed transmission, a 2.47 axle ratio, a front spoiler and other refinements.
