Vice Admiral Lord Louis Mounbatten (left), Allied Commander in Southeast Asia, is shown in discussion with General George C. Marshall, U.S. Army Chief of Staff, after they made a tour of various Army camps and posts in North Caroline to watch an exhibition of landing operations by U.S. troops. They were accompanied by British and American officers.
