1936 Press Photo Chuzi Machida was named new Japanese Finance Minister

Chuzi Machida, who had been appointed Japanese Finance Minister in the pa=lace of slain Korekiyo Takahashi. It is not unlikely that he may be marked for assassination by the "young hot-heads" patriots, like other Liberal leaders before him. Machida ids president of the Minseito, the most Liberal of the large political in Japan and is expected to take a strong stand against the demands of the Army Rebels for an out and out Fascist Regime. The new Finance Minister is extremely wealthy in hos own right and has a distinguished political record, he has stood for peace always and diplomatic settlement of problems between Japan and Russia and Japan and the United States.
