DEFENDS TURBINE RACE CAR -- today defended his turbine race car, driven by Parnelli Jones in the Indianapolis 500 last week, before the U.S. Auto Club's rules committee. Complaints have been lodged against the aircraft-engine car, saying it will make present race cars obsolete. The car led the 500 until forced out by bad bearing.
