Karl P.A. Hoffman's tour of Spokane in 1952 from his native Berlin was intended to be a visit but he liked the area so well he stayed here and now is agency manager of Equitable of Iowa. He completed the fifth sectional test of the Chartered Life Underwriter course. The CLU designation, by the way, is held by 10,000 insurance men in the nation out of about 150,000. The CLU title means five years of study and testing on such subjects as business law, economics, estate planning, life insurance and health insurance. Photo measures 7.75 x 9.75 inches.
