1982 Press Photo These 30 deer which moved into the Eastern Oregon town of Hines

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
These deer, from a herd of about 30 which moved into the Eastern Oregon town of Hines for the winter, appear to be heading downtown in search of the best lunch spot. Residents say the deer have been eating apples, small fruits trees, shrubs and occasionally hay left out by generous citizens. The state Fish and Wildlife Department is moving the deer to an area about 15 miles south of Hines.

Photo measures 10 x 8 inches.

Photo is dated 02-05-1982.
