Description
Ann Robichaux at Jesuit Church. New Orleans was a quiet city today as Christians of every denomination flocked to their churches to pay tribute to the dead Christ. Today is the most solemn day of the year on both Catholic and Protestant calendars. In order that workers could attend services all state and city government offices were closed and in federal agencies the forces were cut to a minimum.

Photo is dated 1949.

Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches.
