Credit - ACME and NEA For the first time in the history of the American Merchant Marine, a woman will temporarily supervise all inspection work of an administrative nature which comes through the steamboat inspection service of the Department of Commerce. Upon the departure for London of Gen. Dickerson N. Hoover, supervising inspector general of steamboats, on April 3, Mrs. A.E. Keyser will automatically assume the duties of inspector general.
