Description
Holy Hill, seven miles southeast from Hartford by road, is one of the highest points in the state, rising 1,400 feet above sea level. The Catholic church on its summit was erected in 1879, and just below the church is a monastery of the Order of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Palestine. Along the winding road to the church are 14 stations, the last one of these being shown in the photograph above.
