Description
It sounds like somebody's idea of a literary joke: a reading list that begins with "Little Women" and ends with "Looking for Mr. Goodbar." But it's perfectly logical to Rhoda Sherwood. Although vastly different, both of those books deal in some way with sister relationships, which is why they appear on the reading list of the course Ms. Sherwood teaches at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. Titles "Strangers, Friends and Foes: An Examination of Sister Relationships in Selected Novels," the course grew out of Ms. Sherwood's search for a doctoral dissertation topic. She considered various subjects and finally hit upon the sister idea.
