Standing 36 feet high, this 2,750 ton Nordberg Manufacturing Co. press will be used to produce carbon composition blocks for aluminum reduction furnaces. The press, weighing 600,000 pounds, will make about 90 blocks an hour. The carbon blocks measure 31 1/2 inches by 21 inches by 24 inches and weight 450 pounds.
