Description
Protest Demonstration At Narita. Tokyo's New International Airport: Noise tests at the much disputed Narita International Airport produced a very active protest a from local fares, trade unionists and students who crowded rhe area surrounding the new airport as a Boing 747 plane was flown in and landed at the runway. The demonstations produced two injured policemen but the students and other demonstraters were able to carry out their protest activities, including 50 Molotov Cocktails and smashing down the gates of the airport with a truck. The riot police are very gentle with the protesters, many people think much too gentle. It might be more effective to remove the kid gloves and treat the demonstraters as they deserve. The demostraters burned used motot tires, flew 2 meter diameter baloons, attackd the wireless equipment out stations. In all about 2000 protesters took part in the demostration trying to prevent the opening of the New International Airport which has been in dispute for 12 years now and is still not solved. The earliest the airport could become operational is 1978, and even that is not yet certain.
