The Valencians and their "Ninots" Opening of the Carnival Season: Many and varied are the fantastic figures-all works of art-made by Valencians for display during the annual Carnival-held in the City of Valencia in honour of St.Joseph. The prize winning figures are consigned to the "Ninnot" Museum-specially maintaiend for them and containing many figures of carnivals of the past years. The others, non-proze-winning are burned at the end of the Carnival... As soon as one year's a Carnival is ended the artists being planning and making their figures-for next year. Photo shows This floar which won second prize depicst the"Freedom of All Nations" - as seen through the eyes of artist brothers Fontelles.
