17.10.63 Norway's largest tanker being built in Britain - The 85,000 ton tanker Borgstein is being built at Joseph L. Thompson & Son Ltd yard at Sunderland for Fred Olsen & Co. the Norwegian ship owners. Then completed she will be Norway's largest tanker and also the largest tanker ever built in Great Britain. The Borgstein will have no conventional bridge, having instead a 5-stories streamlined tower resembling an airport control tower giving and entirely unobstructed all-round view of the horizon.
