Mr. S.J. Smith, a development of a South London firm, this evening showed the first clock controlled by radiated time signals. Smith, in his 70âs, invented the clock; it is an apparatus controlled by Tim, the Post Office clock, and by signals every second from the Rugby wireless station. The clockâs accuracy is absolute. If the pendulum is out of phase by one thousandth of a second the radio signal will bring it to order. Clockmarkers expect to see radio controlled clocks in use in railway stations, factories and Post Offices. Keystone Photo Shows: Mr. S.J.
