Greenwich Palace - The view from across the river showing the fine buildings of Greenwich Palace, once a hospital and now the Royal Naval College. First the site of a Palace in 1428, it was the favourite Royal Palace of the Tudors. Many famous architects had a hand in designing the building and much of it , including the twin domes, is the work of Sir Christopher Wren, one surmounts the famous Painted Hall and the other the Chapel. The Queen's House built by Inigo Jones in 1635 in the background between the two Coupola Towers.
