The World's only "Leopons" are growing up. Rare offspring at Japanese zoo.: The 190 day old "Leopon" cubs half leopard and half lion born at the Hanshin Park zoo, near Kobe, Japan are growing into fine looking animals. Their father is a leopard and the mother a lioness they are a male and a female and while the female can climb the tree in the cage the male is unable to do so he is rather more clumsy. The coat of the female is getting lighter while that of the male darker. Photo shows the unusual mates the male leopard and the lioness mother with behind one of their "Leopon" cubs.
