Wonder Dog working for Charity Willim Berloni is owner & trainer of Sandy the dog that stars in the Broadway musical Annie running since August10, 1976 at New York's Alvin Theatre. Sandy was condemned to die at a pound in Newington, Connecticut and was rescued only one day before his execution as an unclaimed dog. Mr. Berloni had been commissioned by the producer of the Goodspeed Operahouse in Connecticut where the show opened before coming to New York-to find a suitable dog for the role. Ever since Sandy has become a familiar face, even on TV, and had other public appearances. He makes $450 a week at the theatre, and can now afford even to work for charity.
