8.9.60 Trades Union Congress in Douglas, I.O.M - Mr. Frank Cousins, the Transport Workers' leader, won his battle at the Trades Union Congress in Douglas, Isle of Man yesterday. The T.U.C. is now committed to a policy of renouncing nuclear weapons. But Congress also approved official Labour Defence policy, which insists on Britain remaining in an NATO equipped with nuclear weapons, though leaving nuclear production exclusively to the Americans.
