The Culham Laboratory, Near Abingdon, Berkshire: A experiment using a laser beam to produce a detectable amount of scattered light as it passes through plasma. The ruby laser source, operated in a giant pulse mode, is running at a power of about two million watts during the fifty millionth of a second the pulse is emitted.
