US Senator James H. Duff in Germany Senator James H. Duff, member of senatorial committee of armed military forces, inspected American construction and intentions in Europe. In Munich he explained the purpose of his journey and political questions of the day to journalists. Senator Duff was impressed by the high moral condition of the American soldiers as well as by the condition of rebuilding in Germany. "I recommended a strong Germany" he said, "because it is best help against communism effort of extension."
