Description
Dallas, Texas -- Technician at Ling-Temco-Vought stands at the control panel which operates a space environment simulator capable of realistically duplicating the extreme cold, intense solar radiation and other conditions spacecrafts will encounter. The new facility "captures" approximately 1,300 cubic feet of "outer space" for research. Equipped with a unique two-axis motion device, the facility can rotate up to 1,000 pounds of space vehicle or satellite to simulate the attitude relative to the sun.

Photo is dated 1963.

Photo measures 8 x 10 inches.
