Caption: Fails to appear -- Mrs. Adam Clayton-Powell, above, wife of the Harlem clergyman and U.S. Representative, failed to appear today at the House administration subcommittee hearing in Washington to answer questions about her $20,500 a year salary as his aid. She and 16 other staff members had been subpoenaed to testify. Powell, not subpoenaed, had declined to attend the hearing. The U.S. Marshal's office has been asked to find Mrs. Powell, the former Ivette Diago.
