He put the U.S. in front of his daring first run in the icy international men?s slalom, and finished in third place. William (Billy) Kidd, 20, of Stowe, Vt., is shown in action in the international men?s special slalom at Hindeland, Germany, today. He finished third in the day?s standings after putting the U.S. in an early lead with a first run over the icy course in 43:60 seconds. Victory in the slalom is decided on aggregate time of two runs.
