Tony Trabert, left, and John Newcombe (left photo) and Pat Summerall will anchor CBS Sports' 31 hours of exclusive live and videotaped coverage of the "1981 U.S. Open Tennis Championships" September 1-13. Trabert was a two-time winner of this event when it was known as the U.S. Lawn Tennis Association Championships (1953 and 1955), and Newcombe also won it twice (1967 and 1973). Additionally, both are former Wimbledon champions (Trabert in 1955 and Newcombe in 1967) and Trabert was the last American to win the French Open singles title (1953). Summerall, one of the nation's leading broadcasters, was a teen-age tennis champion in his home state of Florida before turning to football and broadcasting.
