Description
LADY BIRD JOHNSON: THE TEXAS WILDFLOWER chronicles how after college, she met a young man who changed her life -- Lyndon Baines Johnson, an up-and-coming Congressional assistant. After they married and moved to Washington, D.C., Lady Bird Johnson financed her husband's campaign for Congress. In 1960 she campaigned for the JFK/LBJ ticket and became the nation's Second Lady. When President Kennedy was assasinated, she mournfully stood at her husband's side on Air Force One as he was sworn in as President.
