The American Experience-The Kennedy, TV's 1st comprehensive documentary portrait of America's famous political family launches the 5th season of public TV's prize winning history series The American Experience, the 4 hour program premieres Sunday September 20 and Monday September 21 from 8 to 10 PM on PBS with 2 hours airing each night. the mini series explores family patriarch Joseph Kennedy's ambitions to be the first Catholic president and when his plans were dashed, his drive to push his son Joe Jr., John, Robert and Edward into the country's highest office. A co production of WGBH/Boston, Thirteen/WNET in New York and KCET/Los Angeles, The American Experience is made possible by support from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and public TV stations.
