Albany, New York airport - Here is the device used to track the path of the balloon and transmitter in the Rawinsonde operation. The parabolic antenna receives the signal emitted by the two-tube transmitter and relays it to a computer in the weather station office. Checking the antenna are, left to right, James J. Cassidy, chief airport meteorologist; Ashley E. Craft, aviation forecaster, and Kenneth C. Murray, assistant chief airport meteorologist.
