This is an original press photo. The people saw the crash coming, however, and most of those in front boxes, where the plane landed, got out of the way. One watcher was hurt seriously, 13 others were bruised or trampled. The pilot was only bruised. Daredevil Wilson was tossed 40 feet and shaken up. Race driver Disbrow walked away from the wreckage of his automobile. Some of the spectators ran to the aid of the injured. Others seemed undecided. Managers of the stunt were so unconcerned that they made arrangements to get a new airplane and to stage the act again the next day. This time, however, front row box seats were not sold.Photo measures 10 x 8.25inches. Photo is dated 03-29-1959.
